Leaders are responsible for change, for seeing ahead and changing the organisation and the "way things are done" before it is too late, before the competition have already out-maneuovered you, before markets have changed and left you behind.   In Eastern Europe this is especially true.  The move is being made from a process to a customer culture, from a bureaucracy to an opportunity culture.  

This is hard when most people have spent most of their lives being told that proactivity and new ideas were dangerous!

Our belief is that you need your people to understand the direction you are taking and why, what it means to them, what is expected of them if your strategies are to succeed.  They also need to believe in it and to feel that their contribution is important.  They need to be told this, sometimes.
